The jungles of the Yucatan, Mayan ruins, looters, a mysterious artifact, and a nosey reporter are focus of Mayan Intrigue.
“One thing I admire about Linda Weaver Clarke’s writing is that she desires to put the reader right there with her characters by describing the setting so well that you are swept away,” wrote Melanie Ski, Homesteading Review. “From page one Linda eloquently describes in interesting details the surroundings and the feelings of her characters. I love when I begin reading a book and am taken in!”
Socrates Book Review enjoyed this mystery/adventure novel, as well. She wrote: “John and Julia Evans are off to Cancun, Mexico to explore the Mayan ruins. As an investigative reporter, Julia is going on assignment but at the same time she and her husband are using it as a chance to spend some much needed time together. Julia sees something she wasn’t supposed to and finds herself in the middle of a stolen artifacts ring. When she becomes a liability to the thieves, her life is on the line. This is an exciting follow-up to Linda Weaver Clarke’s Anasazi Intrigue. She takes us through Cancun and we get to visit the Mayan ruins. Ms. Clarke’s descriptions easily transports the reader to Mexico. You really feel as if you are part of the story. Her words flow beautifully through each page of the book.”
Susan Ortlieb of Suko’s Notebook described Clarke’s writing as “down to earth.” She wrote: “Excitement prevails. This book is full of mystery and suspense. Linda’s writing is lively and down-to-earth; she has the ability to make you feel as if you're in these stories, along with John and Julia, trying to decipher the truth and escape from harm.”
Barb Shelton enjoyed this mystery as she wrote: “The personalities of the characters are well written, and the plots and subplots are thoughtfully created. The historical and mystical facts of the Mayan culture add to the general mystique of the story and particularly enjoyed by this curious reader. I give Linda Weaver Clarke a big high five for this humorous and involved story that held my attention until I finished and put it down with a contented sigh and a smile on my face. A great read.”
